Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) resin, also known as infusion resin, is a specialized type of resin used in the VARTM process for manufacturing composite parts. VARTM is a closed-mold, low-pressure composite manufacturing method that involves infusing resin into a dry reinforcement preform under vacuum pressure. VARTM resin is typically a low-viscosity epoxy or polyester resin that is specifically formulated for infusion processes. It is designed to flow easily through the reinforcement materials under vacuum, ensuring complete impregnation and minimizing voids. VARTM resin offers good wetting properties, low shrinkage, and excellent mechanical properties in the cured state. It is commonly used in the production of large, complex composite structures, such as wind turbine blades, boat hulls, aerospace components, and architectural panels. The VARTM process allows for cost-effective production, reduced emissions, and high-quality composite parts.
