Sheet Molding Compound Compression Molded Composite Material

SMC material, or Sheet Molding Compound, is a high-performance composite material composed of glass fibers, fillers, resins, and other raw materials. SMC sheet molding compound is formed by heating and softening the SMC material and then pressing it into the desired shape using a mold. Product Description

1. Introduction: 

SMC material (Sheet Molding Compound), also known as sheet molding plastic. Due to its excellent electrical properties, lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and flexible design, SMC sheet molding plastic is widely used in various fields such as transportation, electronics, electrical appliances, and construction. It is a thermosetting plastic and is a semi-finished material used for compression molding/injection molding. It is mainly composed of resin, low shrinkage/low profile additives, mineral fillers, reinforcing materials (usually glass fibers), initiators, mold release agents, thickeners, and other process aids.


Due to its high strength, SMC is commonly used for products with large molding areas, simple structures, and high strength requirements.
